Dying to Take a Ride on the Dark Side? Join us for a spirited & entertaining tour built on stories, history, mystery and legends of San Diego's past & DARKER SIDE!
Travel back in time with us and hear of notorious wild characters like Gunslingers and Outlaws, including the tragic deaths of Prominent Families who lived and died in San Diego.
Pioneer Park, located next to Grant School, is perfect for picnics and school children for play. Indeed, it is a lovely place during the day. Ah, but you will hear stories of how the park changes to the darker side when the sun goes down and there is different feeling in the air!
Your journey continues through Old Town, walking through El Campo Santo Cemetery and ending at the Whaley House courtyard, both sites of many reported paranormal occurrences. According to the Travel Channel's America's Most Haunted, the Whaley House is the number one most haunted house in the United States. Although we cannot state positively that the House is really haunted , the voluminous documentation of paranormal occurrences at the site makes a compelling case. But if there are ghosts at the Whaley House, who are they and why are they here?

The Maritime Museum of San Diego enjoys a worldwide reputation for excellence in restoring, maintaining and operating historic vessels. The museum has one of the world's finest collections of historic ships, including the Star of India, the world's oldest active sailing vessel as documented in the Guinness Book of World Records. Star of India is a 1,197-ton iron barque built in 1863. Visitors may tour a range of historic vessels from sail to steam to submarine; taking visitors back in time to explore 500 years of seafaring history.
The Maritime Museum of San Diego displays dozens of permanent and temporary exhibits featured below deck and within customized gallery spaces. Exhibits focus on maritime history, art, photography, naval artifacts, commercial fishing, commerce, transportation and exploration.
Premise of the Museum: The history of human achievement is defined in large measure by the historical relationship with the sea. Not only has the sea determined the progress and shape of civilization, our understanding of that relationship and our responsibilities for stewardship of the oceans will determine our future. The role of any maritime museum is translation between human experience of the oceans and our understanding of their nature. This is accomplished through the exhibits.
